I have lived in this little community since the early 1980’s, and still love that it is a small down to earth town. Beside being in a great location in Texas, being in the Hill Country of Texas and just a few short hours drive from so many major cities, makes us a great place to come visit.
- So what can I tell you, that would make you want to take a road trip to the Center of Texas? For starters, you can stay at our bed & breakfast which is located on 20 secluded acres just a few miles from town. We offer private cabins that each have their own hot tub, you get delivered a wonder hot breakfast to your room each morning, so stay in your jammies as long as you like. You can sit on your porch sipping coffee in the mornings watching the deer right out in front of you grazing in native grasses. The evenings bring some of the most spectacular night skies to enjoy gazing from your private hot tub. Our Art/Nature trail is a fun little trail loaded with surprises around every corner. Enjoy fresh free range eggs from our girls in your breakfast and we will even let you gather them if you like. Our guest always tell us, it is just what they needed to relax and reconnect with each other. We do offer some great packages that you can add on to your stay or even come Elope or Renew Your Wedding Vows.
2. Wanting a little shopping and strolling? Our downtown has become so fun, with everything from Pioneer Tap House, that has killer pizza and Texas craft beers and wine, to Shaw’s Market, a fun filled shopping experience under one roof, but you can’t miss out on Intermission Book Shop, you have to come and here the story behind this WWII Movie theatre turned amazing book shop and walk thru the book tunnel. And we have so many other great places for you to see too, you can check out our visitor information to find all we have to offer.
3. Love the summers on a lake enjoying boating, skiing or fishing, then Lake Brownwood is a wonderful place to hit the water. Miles of beautiful shore line to enjoy on our beautiful lake year round. Bring your boat and we have a spot to park it on our property.
4. I have to say, one of the best things about Brownwood, Texas, is the amazing friendly and welcoming people that live here. Guest tell us often how friendly and helpful folks are when they visit. We are a simple, small community of 20,000, that are proud of who we are and what we have here and love sharing it with others.
So if you are looking for a slower pace and need some down time with each other, not a lot of traffic (only 15 minutes to anywhere in town), want some great food and beverage to enjoy, grab a new book to read or even catch a live play at the Lyric Theatre, then you need to make plans to come visit us and Brownwood. We would love to have you be our guests.
