The idea of eloping is not for everyone, but more and more couples are choosing elopements and small intimate weddings over big celebrations. If you can’t decide if it’s the right choice for you, then let’s look at a few things that might help you make up your mind.
An elopement is all about the two of you. Well, every wedding should be, but many times the large weddings turn into a war over so many details, that might be important to your sister, but not you. What about the worry over the family members who are now divorced and can’t stand to be in the same room with each other? Awkward! There can be lots of distractions that take away from celebrating the the union of the two of you that are in love.
Eloping can be planned is a short time frame and no need to spend hours pouring over tiny details. Look for a place that makes your heart sing and choose that spot. The only time line you have is getting a marriage license, which in Texas is 72 hours before the ceremony up to 90 days prior.
The great thing about and elopement wedding, is you don’t have to spend hours pouring over a guest list. Who to invite and who might be gluten free and so a second cake has to be made, setting up tables and chairs, feeding everyone a big meal. Elope and “boom”, just the two of you.
If you choose to have a few guest, then narrow that down to just you most loved ones to have on the day. What about all the others, well, just have a big party after the wedding and invite everyone you want, make a video of the wedding and show it during the party, then everyone can watch the big day, and you can enjoy that also.
