People love to hear the stories of our journey building the b&b, and yes we did “Build It”, sorry just had to say that. The Oak Cottage is the first one that we built back 14 years ago, and it still is my favorite room. The cottage sits behind the main house nestled in the hillside surrounded by Oak trees. The front porch is a relaxing place to view wildlife and birds, we even have some resident Screech Owls that have been living there since we built the cottage.
The hand forged iron head board done of oak leaves and acorns, Don made back in his blacksmithing days and it is lovely. A large tiled shower in the bathroom along with a hand thrown sink done by a potter friend makes the bathroom very unique. A private hot tub sits outside the cottage about 40 feet away just for the guest of the cottage to use. If you are looking for a relaxing and romantic Texas getaway, then check out the Oak Cottage.
